We have been designing and installing structured networks
of all sizes for over 10 years. In the early years it was necessary to
integrate separate computer systems using LAT, DECNET, SNA in addition
to the now more familiar TCP/IP, IPX, NetBEUI and AppleTalk network protocols.
Over these years we have an excellent track record of
cross-platform projects, integrating Macs, PCs, UNIX, AS/400 and VAX environments
so that information can be shared between departments within organisations
without the restrictions often associated with choosing alternative computer
systems. Much of the integration has been over wide area links set up
by us, with secure links over the Internet being the most popular.
In addition, we actively promote the 'good guys' who
produce products that genuinely work well across different platforms.
We are conscious that a Windows user in the accounts department of a design
agency can feel just as much a minority user as a Mac user working in
the studio of a large corporate.
